荃灣海濱公園位於荃灣西南，面積約四點五公頃，面向藍巴勒海峽，對岸為青衣半島，遠眺汀九橋及深井一帶。荃灣海濱公園地理位置十分方便。從西鐵荃灣西站出發，沿著荃灣海濱長廊向東南方向走約十分鐘即到達荃灣海濱公園。

Tsuen Wan Rivera Park is located at the south-west of Tsuen Wan and its area is about 4.5 hectare, facing to Tsing Yi Peninsula and staring at Ting Kau Bridger and Sam Tseng. The geographic location of Tsuen Wan Rivera Park is highly convenient. Stepping from Tsuen Wan Wast Station, you can walk through the waterfront promenade around 10 minutes with direction of south-east to Tsuen Wan Rivera Park.  

荃灣海濱公園設施一應俱全，草地足球場、網球場、藍球場、兒童遊樂場等基本休憩設施應有盡有，滿足區內居民的需要及特別適合一家大小在周末一起做運動！

We did visit a lot of sight-seeing attractions about Cultural and Historic Footprints in Tsuen Wan. We, SIX GREEN, are feeling tired now. Therefore, we would like to use some of Simple Life activities in Tsuen Wan for recovering our energy and relaxing to continue our journey in Tsuen Wan!

一連幾日嚐試了令人食指大動的中西式美食後，我們「六悠遊」決定到於荃灣區搜尋不同文化及歷史的痕跡，一起文化遊蹤，「荃」方位搜羅荃灣區最有文化及歷史氣息的景點。

We did try so many delicious and mouth-watering foods in the past few days! Now, we, SIX GREEN, are going to move on to search for Cultural and Historic Footprints in Tsuen Wan, feeling the most cultural atmosphere  in Tsuen Wan.

荃灣最歷史悠久的村莊
The Most Historical Village in Tsuen Wan

現在，我們身邊愈來愈多高樓大廈，要看到古屋並不容易，但其實也不需要穿越時光隧道，只要到位於荃灣的三棟屋村便可以了。在那裡，你除了可以見識到古屋的建築風格，更可以認識到荃灣區的演變過程，對歷史有興趣又喜歡拍照的朋友千萬不要錯過！

Nowadays, there are more and more state-of-the-art buildings around us. It is not easy to find the antique houses. To find them, a time tunnel is not needed for you to go back to the past. You can just go to Sam Tung Uk Village located in Tsuen Wan. You will see the changes of Tsuen Wan in this place and you can also see the antique houses there. 

三棟屋分作三個部份，每部分均由一條棟樑承托著，這就是三棟屋名字的由來了。三棟屋村於十八世紀由陳姓客家族人所興建，並於一九八一年被列入為法定古蹟，現在已有二百多年歷史，亦由住宅演變成歷史博物館。館內展出村民以往的生活物品及家居佈置等，充分展現出荃灣區由昔日的農村變成今天的現代化都市，絕對值得參觀。

The name 'Sam Tung Uk' means 'three rows of dwelling' in Chinese. Sam Tung Uk Village belongs to The Chans, the Hakka people. It was declared a historical moment since 1981 as it is a 200-year-old walled village. It is now becoming a museum to show how was the village life in the past. The displays include the belongings and the decorations of the people living there. You can understand the old life and the development of Tsuen Wan easily through this museum.

The Most Sight-worthy Hiking Trail in Tsuen Wan

天氣最近開始涼快了，意味著即將踏入秋季。在這個季節裡，你最想約朋友和家人去哪裡玩？去旅行，野餐，還是燒烤......嗯！對我而言，首選一定是行山，它是最好的減壓方法。作為一個住在荃灣的居民，今次我建議大家去行下圓墩郊遊徑。

Recently, the weather is getting cool, that means autumn is coming soon. What activity would you prefer doing with your friends and family in autumn? Go travel, picnic, or barbecue... Well, going hiking must be my first choice and it is the best way to relieve our pressure. As a resident living in Tsuen Wan, this time I suggest you guys going hiking in Yuen Tun Country Trail.

圓墩郊遊徑位於大欖郊野公園，接近荃灣，由青龍頭入口出發，經過深井聚水塘，沿青龍頭引水道向上走，就會抵達圓墩。

另外，請小心注意，初時山路較崎嶇，盡量緩步行走，去前一日要休息充足，時刻提高警覺，減低弄傷的機會。

Yuen Tun Country Trail is located at Tai Lam Country Park where closing to Tsuen Wan. Starting from the entrance of Tsing Lung Tau, and then passing Sham Tseng Settlement Basin. After that, follow the catchwater to walk upward, finally you will arrive at Yuen Tun.


Besides, as a friendly reminder, please be careful that the mountain road is too rugged. We suggest you to take a good rest before the day going hiking. Being a smart hiker, the chance of injury can be reduced.

抵達後，你會發現有數座客家村屋，但已經沒有人居住了。你知道箇中的原因嗎？其實圓墩原本是一個村落，但在興建大欖涌水塘時受到影響，所以村民已經搬離了原居地。雖然政府現已將圓墩村改作民安隊訓練營地，但亦保留了這幾間村屋，圓墩村古屋在2010年1月被評為香港三級歷史建築並向公眾開放，讓遊人行山時可以順道參觀昔日圓墩村的景況。

Arriving at Yuen Tun, you will find that there are a few number of Hakka houses, but nobody lives there anymore. Do you know the reason behind such situation? Actually, Yuen Tun is a Hakka walled village long time ago. Since the local villagers were influenced when constructing the Tai Lam Chung Reservoir, so they finally moved out their homes. Nowadays, Yuen Tun village already changed as the Civil Aid Service's Yuen Tun Training Camp by Hong Kong Government. Yuen Tun village is still conserved by the government though. This rural village also rated as the Grade III historic buildings in Hong Kong in January 2010. Public are welcomed to visit it. If you are interested in learning Hong Kong culture, you must hold on the chance because it has the great historical value.

之後的路段很容易行走。一帶都是以植林區為主，沿途除了可以欣賞不同種類的植物，也出現了小昆蟲的踪跡。當走得更高時，可以欣賞到沿路一帶優美的景色。沿途亦會經過多條十字路口，若果感到疲倦，可選擇任何一條路口離開郊遊徑。

Leaving Yuen Tun village, the road is much easier to walk. Walking along the plantation road, not only do you look at different types of plant  species, but you can also find the rare insect species. When you go higher, the wonderful views will appear in front of your eyes. On the way, you will pass along many crossroads. If you are too tired or uncomfortable, you can leave through any crossroads.

走到大欖涌水塘北端，就是終點了，可依着路牌指示，到永吉橋附近的草地休息。若要離開這裏，亦有多條山路小徑選擇，但大多都要花上個多小時的步程，所以謹記要預留充足的時間。


The finishing point is at northern end of Tai Lam Chung Reservoir. You can go to the meadow nearby Wing Kut Bridge if you want to take a break. If not, you can choose any alley to leave. However, many alleys are quite long, you have to spend more than 1 hour to walk away from the country trail. Please plan your schedule well before going to Yuen Tun Country Trail. The Best Scenery Hiking Trail in Tsuen Wan

元荃古道現時是一條連接元朗與荃灣的郊遊徑，沿途風光優美，飽覽荃灣市區及青衣半島的建築群，包括舉世聞名的青馬大橋及汀九橋。元荃古道步行難度不高，特別適合一群喜歡輕鬆自在及遠離繁囂的都市人。

Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail is a trail connecting Yuen Long and Tsuen Wan. Hikers walking through the trail can enjoy the fantastic scenery including well-known Ching Ma Bridge and Ting Kau Bridge, and also different buildings in Tsuen Wan and Ching Yi Peninsula. The difficulty of Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail is not high. In fact, Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail is especially suitable for the hikers who demand on “relaxing” and “enjoyable” trip.

                                                               

元荃古道全長約13公里，全段步行時間為5.5小時，上起荃灣柴灣角(鄰近荃威花園)，途徑下花山、石龍拱、田夫仔、深井、大欖、吉慶橋、東白虎，下至元朗大棠一帶。

The total length of Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail is about 13 Kilometers, and the estimated walking time is approximately 5.5 hours. Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail starts from Chai Wan Kok at Tsuen Wan and passes through Shek Lung Kung, Sham Tseng, Tai Lam; and ends at Tai Tong at Yuen Long.

古時，元荃古道是一條對新界村民十分重要的道路，它的作用是運送元朗及荃灣兩地村民的農作物及日用品，大大促進兩地的經濟活動。當然，隨著屯門公路及荃錦公路開通後，元荃古道的重要性大大降低，現時就成為一群喜歡大自然及一家大小的周末假期消閒的好去處。請謹記！遊玩郊遊時必須愛護大自然，珍惜這些香港最後的樂土！

In the ancient time, Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail was a very important pathway connecting Yuen Long and Tsuen Wan. The most important function of it was to transport the agriculture products, foods and commodities between Yuen Long and Tsuen Wan. As time goes by, the importance of Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail becomes lower in view of the development of the road service of Tun Mun Road. Nowadays, Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail becomes a famous outing and hiking selection. A friendly reminder is that each of hikers has to make the effort to conserve the environment and treasure this wonderful place what Hong Kong possesses!
